Our Story

A Permanent Headache

I’ve been in chronic pain for over 30 years. The pain has moved a few times over the years. Usually back and forth between my back and neck. But the reality of it all is: most of the time, every muscle in my body is painful with extended periods of intense pain in my back and/or neck.

While the location and intensity of the pain can vary day to day, one thing that has been constant for the past 25 years is a permanent headache. By permanent headache, I mean everyday I wake up and go to bed with a headache. It’s literally 24/7/365, and it’s been that way for decades. On a scale of 1-10, it hovers around a 5 on a good day, and a 9 or 10 on a bad day.

Over the years, I’ve seen countless doctors and “alternative health” practitioners. They’ve poked and prodded, scanned and probed too many times to count, prescribed dozens of different drugs, and recommended over 100 different supplements.

I’ve tried practically every supplement and diet under the sun, from probiotics to methylated vitamins and electrolytes, carnivore to vegan. I’ve used hyperbaric oxygen, ozone, sauna, cold plunge, hormones, peptides, and stem cells. Not once or twice, but for months, sometimes years, following strict protocols.

I tried various strains of medical marijuana in the early days of availability. While I found some pain relief in the way of muscle relaxation, I found it too disruptive to my work. Much later, I would come to understand why I didn’t see the results I wanted, and how to better use cannabis as medicine.

A few years later, I started using CBD. Back then, it was still the wild west. Regulations were even more cloudy than today. Many of the sources I used back then are no longer around because of difficulties with payment processors, banks, and confiscated shipments. I found some relief with CBD, but ultimately gave up on it after repeated problems with reliable sourcing and results.

All of this trial and error has cost me well over a hundred thousand in out-of-pocket expenses. It’s also cost me relationships with friends, colleagues, and even family. I couldn’t always push through the pain and work effectively, resulting in lost work and crippling anxiety.

It’s been difficult to describe how much pain and suffering I go through daily, and how ineffective treatments have been, without people thinking I’m crazy or exaggerating. Things got so bad, I completely lost my will to live, more than once.

Thankfully, the CBD industry has changed, mostly for the better. CBD is much more readily available, but it’s still hard to find quality sources. Much of what’s available is from poor quality industrial hemp, from questionable sources, and loaded with hazardous chemicals.

It took me years to find a good supplier, and a lot of trial and error to find the right cannabinoid ratio and dosage. Once I did, my life drastically changed, for the better.

With such a profound impact on my life, I knew I wanted to help others find their way to CBD and provide a clean, reliable, organic option for CBD oil, capsules, and gummies.

Nebbie

Nebbie wasn’t just a pet, she was a beloved family member, a therapy dog, and a best friend. It was devastating news when I found out she had late-stage cancer. CBD helped with the suffering towards the end of her life, and it was extremely effective at that. It extended the quality of her life for another few months, while I prepared for something I would never be ready for. Even though years have passed, I’m tearing up writing this.

Nebbie had a zest for life until the day she passed, and I know CBD during hospice helped her through a difficult time for both of us. I know now, years later, that I could have been much more aggressive with the treatment. I wish I would have known the true power of cannabis back then.

Nebbie isn’t the only family member ravaged by cancer. I’ve lost grandparents, uncles and aunts, nieces and nephews to various types of cancers. Unfortunately, many of them were still closed off to CBD because of the longstanding war on cannabis, and the pervasive propaganda fueling it. Thankfully, I’ve been able to reach other friends and family through it all.
